The idea of this race came about as a way to infuse additional energy into the downtown New London area which is already booming. Our hope is that this race becomes an annual event and sparks interest for additional races and events throughout the year.

The run will be centered in downtown New London to highlight historical sections of the city and illuminate the transformational energy surging through the District.

Promoting Cultural Awareness - Runners would be encouraged to wear green and kilts for fun and in conjunction with St. Patrick’s Day. Musicians will be positioned throughout the race course playing traditional Irish music and songs. There would also be traditional and current Irish music played during the expo and awards ceremony following the race.  

Promoting Health and Wellness - The race as well as the health and wellness expo held immediately following the race will promote healthy lifestyle choices that will have a positive impact throughout your life. The expo will include local businesses and services from the New London and surrounding communities centered on promoting healthy lifestyles and highlighting the many benefits of an active life.

Promoting Education – “A Race Inside a Race” will give prizes to local school kids for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes for male and female. The categories would be for high school students and primary school students totaling 12 prizes.

This is a community race and we would like to involve as much of the community as possible.
